Andy Madeley

Andy was once an IT administrator working in London's Rat Race who was bitten by the adventure bug after travelling though South East Asia, Australia, Peru and running his first ultra-marathon in 2009. Despite the pain of that first bite he decided that before ‘settling down’ he'd like to contribute something to the world by raising money for War Child UK and to lead an amazing life as, you may not be aware of this, working in IT is not all that exciting…

Armed with a fearlessness that can only come from ignorance and several pints of beer he set about planning an overland adventure between London and Sydney by bicycle as part of the dynamic cycling duo, The Cycle Diaries. Along the way Andy became a columnist for The Telegraph, cycled 25'000 kilometers on a ride that took 16 months, passed through 22 countries and helped raise over £26'000 for War Child UK.
