Find an Explorer!

Ants is a record-breaking adventurer, travel writer and tv producer, with a penchant for very long journeys in rather unsuitable vehicles. Most recently she ventured on a 2-month motorcycle ride down what remains of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. A book about this "Short Ride in the Jungle" has just been published.

Ed Bassett

Edward is a professional adventurer of over thirty years with experience in mountains, jungles and rivers across the globe. In 1983, Edward suffered an injury that confined him to a wheelchair for thirteen months. This difficult time led him to develop a “full inclusion” policy on all of his expeditions and adventures to ensure that disabled individuals could equally enjoy the thrill of an expedition.

James-Borrell-profile

James Borrell is a conservation biologist with a passion for exploration and adventure. His first expedition experience was a month spent in the rainforests of Madagascar at the age of 17. Subsequently he has been involved with several further expeditions to Norway and the Peruvian Amazon, conducted field research in South Africa, sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and travelled overland from London to Istanbul in search of Europe’s remaining wild places. Just back from a field trip to the highlands of Scotland, James is planning to undertake field research in Northern Lapland later this summer.

Jimmy McSparron has spent most of his adult life in remote corners of the world. He has lived with many indigenous groups, getting tattoos deep in the jungle with sticks, meeting head hunters and cannibals: documenting languages and cultures along the way. He has also featured on Nat Geo Wild and the BBC with both screen time and as a location manager and fixer for a variety of TV programs.

John Sullivan joined the Royal Marines at the age of 16, travelling across the world in pursuit of adventure. After leaving the forces he started specializing in extreme survival, working in some of the most inaccessible corners of the globe.

JWynne Portrait

Jut Wynne, PhD(c), is a conservation biologist who has bushwacked through the jungles of Belize, rappelled into the deepest volcanic pit in Hawaii, endured the world’s driest desert in northern Chile, used cutting edge instruments onboard NASA aircraft, and traveled to the most remote inhabited place on earth, Easter Island - just to learn more about caves.

Travelled 'Around the World in 80 Ways' using as many different methods of transport as possible. First Briton to climb (or attempt!) several mountains in Kyrgyzstan, Bolivia and Siberia. Walked across the Wahiba Sands desert carrying all own food and water. Ran the length of every London Underground Tube line including several ultra marathons. Holds the world record for the longest distance cycled in a rickshaw (1,000 miles).
