WE Summit 2015
The first annual World Explorers Summit was held during the first weekend in September 2015.
The weekend event included an Explorers Supper held at the historic United Arts Club in Dublin followed by a Gala Dinner on the 5th September at the magnificent estate of the Anglo-Irish Explorer Charles Howard Bury with special guest Explorers and other exciting adventure related events staged throughout the weekend in the midlands Irish town of Mullingar.
Speakers during the weekend included World Explorers Bureau CEO, Tim Lavery, MC for the night of the Gala Dinner was Scientist/TV Presenter Huw James who read out a message from Apollo 11 Astronaut Michael Collins who recommended that the first Charles Howard Bury Award be presented to Irish mountaineer Paul Devaney. Additional lectures included the first World Explorers OS (OnStage) where Arita Baaijens, Mike O' Shea and Audun Amundsen presented short summaries of their expeditions past and in the future! Amy Gigi Alexander hosted an Adventure Travel Writing workshop/roundtable and Ripcord Adventure Journal was officially launched in the presence of the core team of editors and publishers..

Overview:
There will be four key strands for the expanded 4-day event: Exploration, Film, Arts and Literature. In the coming week we will be releasing full details of all these components of a very exciting and fun-packed long-weekend, so stay tuned!
The highlight of the Weekend will be the Charles Howard Bury Dinner (Gala Dinner) on Saturday 3rd which will include the presentation of the CHB Award and guest speakers.
The World Explorers OS (OnStage) Event will feature several explorers and adventurers speaking for a maximum of 20 minutes on an expedition related topic of their choice.
Expedition Planning Workshop
World Explorers Education Programme will include "Meet the Explorers" Event on the 5th September and a nationwide "Explorers in School Week"
There will also be a series of organised Adventure activities and destination tours for those spending more than the Weekend.
World Explorers Film Festival will take place a a variety of venues during the weekend
The Weekend will include World Explorers Film Awards and Adventure Film Workshop
