John Pomfret

John (Pommy) Pomfret is a British entrepreneur and adventurer. He is an experienced mountaineer who has led treks and several expeditions to places such as South America, the Himalaya and Africa on numerous occasions, in 2006 John led a group of 13 to Everest Base Camp before joining a group to successfully summit Mt. Everest.

John joined the army as a junior entrant with the Royal Engineers, after a short spell he left and took up construction as his principle job. John has always been passionate about the great outdoors, as a young boy of 13 he climbed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. For John, things began to move up, literally in the world in 1999, when he joined a charity group to climb Kilimanjaro and from there progressed to Mera Peak in 2000 and then various other climbs before embarking on 8,000m peaks beginning in 2003 with Cho Oyu. John has trekked and climbed in the Himalaya most years since 2000.

Some things in life simply cannot be measured and the impact that Pommy has had is one of those tangible but immeasurable golden threads in ones life.
