Lorie Karnath

Lorie Karnath is an avid explorer, adventurer, author who has canvased the globe in search of answers to elusive questions. Most recently she served for three terms as the 37th president of The Explorers Club only the second woman in the club’s 108 year history to be elected. Karnath has led many expeditions to far-flung regions of the world. Karnath is the co-founder of the Explorers Museum, a global organization dedicated towards the preservation and advancement of discovery and exploration. Headquarters at Charleville Castle.
She has lived in the Borneo rainforests conducting animal surveys, climbed Mount Kinabalu, traveled much of the silk road, crossed the Taklamakan Desert, journeyed to the North and South Poles, navigated Burma’s Irawaddy River, conducted reef surveys off Malaysia and helped dig out a Pachyrhinosaurus skull in Northern Canada. Most of her expedition work focuses on fauna and flora studies and she has written a number of books and articles on science and exploration.
Lorie Karnath is a fellow of The Explorers Club, The Royal Canadian Geographical Society and The Royal Geographical Society and is a founding member of its Hong Kong Branch. She has an MBA from INSEAD, and was conferred with an honorary Ph.D. for her work in the sciences from Shenandoah University.
